Heating issues we fix

What's your system doing?

Heating problems can be uncomfortable — and occasionally unsafe. We take both seriously, diagnose carefully, and always explain what we find before any repair starts.

Comfort

No heat or not enough heat

Could be an ignition problem, a dirty filter, a failing heat exchanger, or low refrigerant in a heat pump. We track it down and tell you what it is.

Controls

Thermostat issues

Sometimes the system isn't the problem — a miscalibrated or failing thermostat can make it look like one. We check the controls as part of every diagnostic.

Airflow

Rooms that won't warm up

Uneven heating often comes down to duct issues, a struggling blower, or a filter that hasn't been changed in too long. We check it all.

Heating repair questions

What people want to know before calling

Got a safety concern? Don't fill out a form — call us directly.

For a furnace, this can mean an ignition failure, a dirty flame sensor, or a heat exchanger issue. For a heat pump, it might be low refrigerant or a reversing valve problem. These all need a technician to diagnose properly — the symptoms can overlap. We'll get to the bottom of it.

A mild dusty smell at the start of the season is normal — that's just dust burning off the heat exchanger. A persistent burning smell, a metallic smell, or anything that smells like gas is not normal. Turn the system off and call us right away. If you smell gas strongly, leave the property and call the gas company first.

Once a year is the general recommendation — ideally before the season you'll need it most. Regular maintenance catches small issues before they become expensive breakdowns, and it keeps the system running efficiently. Check out our maintenance page for more details.

Both. We service gas furnaces, electric furnaces, and heat pump systems. If you're not sure what you have, that's fine — describe what's happening and we'll figure it out on the call or when we arrive.

Don't let it get worse

Small heating problems have a way of becoming big ones

A heater that cycles constantly, rooms that won't warm up, or unusual sounds — these are signs something's off. Catching it early is almost always less expensive than waiting.
